Red Clay Pictures is Cliff Vaughn's production company. It takes its name
from the type of soil in North Alabama, where Vaughn was born and raised
on a farm.
Vaughn, 35, began Red Clay Pictures in 2003, choosing a documentary on Nashville environmentalist John van der Harst as his first project. Vaughn holds a bachelor's in history from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a master's in communications from Auburn University, and a doctorate in American culture studies from Bowling Green State University. Vaughn, who is married with a son and a daughter, divides his time between writing and editing, teaching, parenting and working on Red Clay Pictures. You can
